Discover Ecobulb's Technology
We provide world leading high quality ecobulb LEDs that maximise the energy savings, the electricity network peak load reduction and the carbon dioxide emission reductions. We have developed the world’s most efficient residential LED light bulbs and world first ecobulbs to replace inefficient incandescent downlights without needing an electrician and to replace inefficient halogen light bulbs. Our ecobulbs have previously topped the leading consumer group tests of energy saving bulbs in New Zealand, Australia and Germany.
Our commercial LEDs are about 50% more efficient than the standard products found on the New Zealand market. When combined with each of our LEDs having occupancy and daylight sensors, they use as little as half of the electricity of other commercial LEDs.
We have also developed a unique Power$aver software platform for in-home or remote tablet-based assessment of a home’s energy savings potential. Power$aver allows an assessor-led, tablet-based assessment of a home’s energy savings potential with instant results and recommendations through a personalised, easy-to-implement energy savings strategy for each home.
Finally, we are tackling the challenge to make heat pump water heaters affordable for kiwis to unlock this huge energy savings opportunity for New Zealand.
World-leading Residential LEDs
Ecobulb’s world leading residential LEDs replace incandescent and halogen light bulbs and incandescent downlights. They have the highest energy efficiency of up to 140 lumens per watt, the longest 54,000-hour lifetimes and power factors of up to 0.99.

High efficiency Heat Pump Water Heaters
Heat pump water heaters can reduce hot water heating costs by up to 75%. However, they are expensive – it can cost up to $10,000 to buy and have one installed in New Zealand – so only 0.6% of kiwi homes have one.
